The House That Stamps Built: Photo Inspiration

No automatic alt text available.

It was a bright Inspiration Photo at The House That Stamps Built this week, I hope the Design Team will brighten your week with our creations.

I went with the colors this month.  I started with a Brusho background and rewet and dabbed with a paper towel a few times to tone it down just a tad, until I had the effect I wanted  I went with just a simple white and purple butterfly and a few gems to finish off my cheery background.

The House That Stamps Built: Tic-Tac_toe

Tic-Tac-Toe Time week at The House That Stamps Built!

No automatic alt text available.

I went with Polka Dots (lots of polka dots), Paper Piecing and Pink.  I used all scraps for this card, and I was happy to see that I had lots of polka dots that went together and a background neutral to tie it all together. I used Copic markers to do a bit of shading on the cups.

The House That Stamps Built: DCC

Designer Choice Challenge this week at The House and Cheri chose the fun theme of
All Creatures, Great and Small!

I went with this cute little fish that I have been meaning to use for quite some time, but I
am not big on masking so have delayed playing with this part of the Container Set.  I had a
lot of fun making this card and will be doing more masking in the future.  I used stamping mask paper instead of post it notes for the first time and it does make it much easier.

The House That Stamps Built: Pick of the Week

Donna here for Pick of the Week for The House That Stamps Built

Today I am going to show a fun way to use some of those patterned paper scraps that we all have around and don't want to throw away.

Lets get started by gathering our supplies.  You will needs an A-2 card base, a white 4" by 5 1/4" piece of white card stock, die cut of your choice, about the size of the heart below that I used, an embossing folder, various widths of scraps of coordinating scraps of cardstock-about 5-8 per card, tape or glue of your choice, scissors, and stamps of your choice,  I used Repeat Impressions: 1144-D, Happy Anniversary419-J, Another year . . .   4405-K, Dragonfly Deco :

Die cut heart or shape of your choice towards the top of your 4 x 5 1/4" cardstock and then emboss, it is important to die cut first or you will flatten out your embossing when you die cut:

Place adhesive (or glue) all around die cut close to edge.  Attach strips of cardstock in the order you want and at an angle, trim edges as you go:

Place adhesive around the edges of cardstock and across the strips of paper:

Attach to A-2 card front being sure to press firmly on edges and across the patterned paper to attach.  Embellish as desired:

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will give it a try!

Floral Corners

April, 2018
CAS Floral Corner and/or Colors

The month has flown by, time for another challenge at the House of Cards.  I took my
inspiration from both the Photo and the colors:

I started with Stampin Up's Birthday Blooms and stamped the main image and
the smaller flower  several times on white cardstock so I could color layer the flowers for
depth.  Coloring is with Copics. Patterned paper from my stash.

You have all month to join our current challenge- we are looking forward to your creations!
