Two co-workers became grandma's this past week, and its a boy! The fun part is it is for the same baby, yes their son and daughter are married! What an exciting time. Bear and words are embossed, background paper is from DCWV.
I had so much fun making this card and the watercolor splotches that you can see above but even more so in the close-up below. I recently took a Craftsy class by Catherine Pooler: Wild Cards, 21 Techniques with Favorite Supplies and it was a great refresher and had some new twists. I had not die cut from a watercolor and embossed the die cut as I did here, and had not tried water splattering before, so thanks Catherine for the motivation!
It's very hot and humid here in Missouri so it was a good time to play with Gerda Steiners underwater image for this months progressive challenge, is this not the cutest digi set? I had so much fun with it. I took out some previous polished stone papers and used one for my image and one for the background. I used my Koh-i-nor pencils and a glitter pen and that was all it needed. Hope you are keeping cool and enjoying some creative time.
Yes, it's time for birthday celebrations at work again this coming week. Here are two of the four cards I made. Not sure I like the crooked layering but thought I would give it a try for something different. The top set is Itty Bitty Boltz by Sparkle and Sprinkle and I added some dots of embossing using my Versa Mark pen to add a little sparkle. The second card I used a sunflower by CraftsStan, it was manufactured in 1996 so has been in my collection so a long time.
Had a wonderful time a the yearly stamping convention in Collinsville, Ill with my mom, Diane, Shirley, Pat, Cheryl, and another Diane. My splurge was Zig markers and this is my first card I made with them. I used Floral Duet stamp set by Amuse Studio's. The flower sequins were from the Morning Star booth at the convention. The Zig markers are so much fun to color with and blend so well! A close-up is below:
I made this card this morning for my sister-in-law and brother-in-laws anniversary. I used Repeat Impressions Vase of Tulips, embossed in gold which I think gives an elegant look, colored with copics, paper pieced the vase with My Minds Eye papers and used that for one of my many die cuts.
Today is doubly special. This is a special set released by MHKDesigns to celebrate Independence Day and it is also my dad's birthday! The card with the flag is my dads birthday card, below is the inside and the second went out to my chemo buddy last Monday. This fabulous digital set can be purchased at: Etsy MHKDesigns.
Today is the start of Christmas in July over at MHKDesigns! Papers were released yesterday and additional sets will be released July 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th by various design team members and some special guest designers so you will want to be sure to check back on MHKDesigns on those dates! I'll be back on the 23rd with a sweet design!
Hi everyone, its time for another monthly challenge at House of Cards with the fun theme of:
Fruit/Drink Image and/or Colors
I pulled out a die cut for the card below that I have had for some time now and had not used and went with the colors. After my initial yellow base, some lime, green papers and a blue and yellow center I had fun pulling out die cuts and punches and added a Happy Day sentiment so I can use this card for any occasion.
